**SEASONAL POSITION**
- Full-time/seasonal Entry level
- Schedule is Monday -Friday, and rotating Saturdays
- Hourly rate is $16.00
- Bilingual in Spanish is required
- Valid Driver's License

**GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
The payroll clerk will work under supervision, but must also be able to carry out tasks independently. He/she must make sure that employee wages are processed in a timely manner, so the ability to adhere to time constraints is essential. Different employees may have different payment schedules, so the clerk should be aware of this and also verify forms, such as time sheets, which have been submitted by various departments to process payment. Such forms must be audited and corrected in order to administer the correct pay to employees.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Enter changes to employee payroll records
- Handle voluntary and involuntary deductions
- Calculate, key, total, and balance substitute payrolls
- Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers.
- Answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages.
- Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.
- Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints.
- Open, sort, and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail.
- Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.
- Type, format, proofread, and edit correspondence and other documents, from notes or dictating machines, using computers or typewriters.
- Count, weight, measure, or organize materials.

**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
- Intermediate/advanced Excel skills specifically creating and manipulating spreadsheets (formulas and pivot tables experience preferred)
- 1-2 years experience in office environment
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Detail oriented and ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
- Work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and a high degree of public contact by phone or in person.
- Read, understand, and review documents for accuracy and relevant information.
- Use applicable office terminology.
- Make accurate arithmetic calculations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

**OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure. Proficiency in the English language, verbal and written, ability to communicate with team members and inter-company personnel in Spanish.
- Knowledge of Famous software is a plus

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**:

- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
- Any combination of education and experience in the payroll department that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- 1 to 3 years of experience Administrative Assistant/Payroll Clerk
- Ability to work independently prioritizes responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure. Proficiency in the English language, verbal and written, ability to communicate with team members and inter company personnel in Spanish.
