The dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for plate ware, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc. by using the dishwashing machine & manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dish washing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary area.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Opens and/or closes the dish area properly & follows all cleaning & closing checklists.
- Sort & rinse dirty dishes, glassware, tableware, pots and pans, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine or hand wash.
- Sort and stack clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to the cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.
- Remove trash & boxes to dumpster area.
- Sweeping & mopping of floors.
- Sweep up trash around the exterior of building & in the dumpster area.
- General restaurant & restroom cleaning as directed.
- Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain safe & dry.
- Must notify management of any issues with the dish machine running properly.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Performs other related duties such as helping to wash dishes as needed, cleaning and any other projects assigned by management.
- Arrives to work 10 minutes prior to the scheduled shift.
