The Domestic Violence Counselor will provide support, advocacy, and counseling to survivors of domestic violence. Provides a range of clinical services including crisis intervention, intakes, assessments, treatment planning, counseling, evaluations and referrals to our client population.

**Reports to**:Chief Clinical Officer and Safe Passages Director

**Employment Status**: Full-time, Non-exempt

**Salary**: $24.00 per hour

**Responsibilities**

**Operations**
- Provide counseling services as needed to guests of Safe Passages.
- Works in conjunction with the Lead Case Manager to ensure that guests of the shelter receive necessary services.
- Provide support to organizational staff as needed with clients in all CCSI programs.
- Complete required supervision and leadership training.
- Review all initial and discharge charts to ensure mental health opportunities are appropriately handled.
- Facilitate groups and ensure all appropriate documentation is completed.
- Assure monthly reports are completed within the deadline of the 5th of each month.
- Participate in staff meetings, present cases to clinical staff and create individualized counseling plans.
- Communicate with and provide follow-up to referring agencies (Courts, Parole, Probation, DSS, etc.).
- Establish & maintain a cooperative, professional relationship with participants, staff, other organizations & the community.
- Acknowledges receipt of the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector and maintains policies, procedures and standards required for agency accreditations.

**Administration**
- Completes clerical work as needed including timesheets, mileage logs, etc in a timely fashion.
- Prepare & maintain statistical reports on services rendered.
- Attend in-services and meetings assigned by supervisors as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as requested from time to time that are not specifically listed but are consistent with the position and skills of the incumbent and necessary for the efficient and effective operation of CCSI.

- Completes projects and assigned tasks on time.
- Establishes appropriate priorities for task completion.
- Seeks out new learning and shares useful information with board members/staff.

- Position requires sitting for long periods
- Use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls
- Long periods of looking at a computer screen
- Repeat the same movements

**Education and Experience Qualifications Required**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in social science and/or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years non-profit supervisory experience
- Completes Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Assessing Suicide in Kids (ASK) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training within 6 months of employment
- Must listen and communicate well, be non-judgmental, have self-initiative and work well as a team member.
