**PARK PROJECT MANAGER - Design & Construction**

**This is a series recruitment that will close on May 14, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.**

**Future Salary Increase**
*** July 2024 - 3.35% increase to base pay (2.75% Across-the-Board + 0.60% Market Increase)**

Park Project Managers perform but are not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

- Under general supervision, plan, coordinate and direct the implementation of design and construction of park capital projects and major maintenance improvements
- Review designs with stakeholders to ensure the project meets all DPR Parks’ requirements and communicate pro-actively while demonstrating organizational and political acumen
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget of projects from inception to construction close-out, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary project team to ensure timely completion of work
- Review consultant submissions for completeness and compliance with agency goals such as high-quality design, sustainability and durability. Coordinate other professional reviews such as architectural design and engineering trades
- Ensure all necessary regulatory county, state and federal agency approvals are received prior to issuance of bid and assemble project bid documents, administer public bid/quote process and recommends and administers action on construction or maintenance contracts
- Monitor contract compliance with prevailing wage laws, California and local building codes, specifications, OSHA and ADA requirements and other federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
- Monitor progress of construction reviewing and approving shop drawings, responding to requests for information, and other construction related design tasks. Conduct occasional site inspections for quality assurance and solve field condition issues in an efficient manner
- Review and approve consultant and contractor payment requests. Coordinate with agency budget and accounting units to ensure efficient contract registration and payments

- Demonstrates ability to manage multiple development projects, tasks and priorities in a wide variety of disciplines to achieve desired goals
- Possesses strong construction management and inspection skills which are highly desirable
- Possesses knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques related to construction management
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills and an ability to respond orally and in writing to stakeholders and public inquiries

**Work Schedule**

**Hiring Process and Timeline**:

- Job Offer and Background Process begins in June 2024. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
- Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
- Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

**Working Conditions**

The work environment of a Park Project Manager is divided between the office and the field, such as remote work locations, uneven terrain, and varying weather conditions; travel may be required within the county region on a frequent basis and outside of the county region on an occasional basis. Exposure to computer screens. Subject to occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work. May interact with persons who are uncooperative, argumentative, or upset.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, geology, urban planning, parks or recreation administration, environmental planning, public/business administration, business management, or a closely related field, AND, two (2) years of professional level project management experience performing capital projects planning, project coordination/management, or urban/environment/resource planning activities; OR;
- Any combination of education and experience described above which equals six (6) years.
