Under the direction of the Manager, Health Equity Operations the Coordinator - Health Equity Operations, supports IEHP’s compliance with Cultural and Linguistic (C&L) State and Federal regulatory requirements. This position assists in the development and/or implementation of Cultural & Linguistics Services /activities, such as:

- Daily processing of Alternative Format Standing Member requests, such as Braille, Audio, Electronic, Text to ASL and Large Print, for members.
- Process Alternative Formats Follow-ups and Program Referrals in Medical Management System.
- Connect with Members as necessary to assist with alternative format requests.

The Coordinator - Health Equity Operations will also provide coordination and administrative support to the Health Equity Operations and Programs unit in the areas of development and implementation of operational policies and health equity strategies.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Complete daily processing of Alternative Format Standing Member requests, such as Braille, Audio, Electronic, Text to ASL and Large Print, for Members. Review daily excel report to enter data into IEHP systems (MedHok)

2. Download Member letters, rename, and re-save in appropriate format. Notify appropriate parties when letter is uploaded in correct format.

3. Submit alternate format selection to DHCS via website/phone call.

5. Convert event follow-ups to MedHok Program Referrals in Medical Management system daily by end of business day upon receipt of follow-ups from Member Services Department to properly document how members are assisted.

6. Connect with Members via phone call to confirm Alternative Format referral and educate Members on Alternative format options ensuring Members’ records are updated with appropriate selection. Process Alternative Format Program Referrals.

7. Coordinate non-medical Interpreter services and ADA accommodation requests to accommodate Members.

8. Participate in Telephonic surveys as required by management, to support department goals and priorities, i.e., Member Cultural Needs Assessment and Member Experience Survey.

9. Assist with submitting requests to update team collaterals/brochures, including re-prints and inventory orders.

10. Serve as a liaison establishing accurate communication and coordination of services for the organization’s Members.

11. Order promotional items for the unit as needed and keep track of the inventory.

12. Place office supply orders and maintain inventory. Ensure orders are complete and accurate, including verifying materials received and reconciling discrepancies.

13. Coordinate one-on-one meetings, annual reviews, training sessions and ad hoc meetings.

14. Responsible to complete Team Member Access Request Forms and administrative department orientation for new Team Members.

15. Prepare and coordinate plans for visitors including access badges, internet access and directional maps.

16. Prepare and coordinate travel arrangements including travel requests, itineraries, and reimbursement requests.

17. Any other duties as required ensuring Health Plan operations are successful.

**The team member in this role must take a listening/minute-taking typing assessment and must receive a passing score.**

Qualifications:
**Education & Experience**

**A listening/minute-taking typing assessment required.**
- One (1) year of experience in a project coordination, translations or interpreting services required. Experience addressing issues of cultural and linguistic competency and racial and ethnic disparities in health care.
- Experience with a health plan or working with culturally diverse populations preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree from an accredited institution in a Healthcare related field or Cultural and Linguistic studie
