Non-exempt position, Full-Time 40 hours per week.

**Position Overview**
The Employment Specialist is responsible for the coordination, development, planning, outreach, assessment, and evaluation of the Assessment Services program, and is expected to promote vocational and employment-oriented goals for individuals with disabilities seeking services through Sonder SOLUTIONS. The Employment Specialist fosters relationships with community-based business partners to secure or maintain work-site opportunities for program participants and works with the business partner’s staff to ensure that program participants are able to perform their job duties and are empowered to reach their work goals.

The Employment Specialist oversees service-specific outcomes, implements direct services provided by the organization to include evaluation of services, personal development, job skills, individual service plans, case management, and service delivery. Employees in this position serve as a liaison with state agencies, community business partners, and fellow staff to provide updates and required reports on participants’ service objectives. This position requires general knowledge of the workforce, work-readiness skills, case management, community resources available for individuals with disabilities, and the ability to make recommendations regarding the necessary services and plans for each participant.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Act as a trusted advisor to assess, plan, coach, and advocate for program participants.
- Provide ongoing support to participants and their community-based employers during services to include the identification of problem areas and provide recommendations to eliminate barriers.
- Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to all Participants while engaging Participants in discussions about their employment goals.
- Provide guidance and support to participants on service and job-related issues.
- Enters, updates, and maintains documentation in case management system in accordance with state contract requirements.
- Completes monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual case management reports, on clients and keeps appropriate family, residential service providers and governmental agencies appraised of the individual’s progress.
- Independently reviews documentation and reporting for completion and accuracy.
- Maintains accurate and timely case-load reporting, and timesheets for participants receiving assessment services.
- Assist Participants in becoming work-ready by promoting their development and effective utilization of communication and self-presentation skills.
- Keep abreast of current practices and events that could impact Participants; make suggestions about new material to incorporate into the service delivery.
- Assess participants in community-based work experiences and employment assessments for work-readiness and competitive employment.
- Use motivational interviewing techniques as appropriate to help guide Participants to goal achievement.
- Maintain constant, consistent contact with Participants to track their progress
- Maintain contact with community-based worksite supervisors regarding participants performance.
- Maintain relationships with external entities necessary to effectively communicate progress on participants. These entities may include funding agencies vital to continued support.
- Facilitate provision of accommodations, training, support, and social integration for Participants; provide behavior support for interventions and ISP meetings as necessary.
- Participate in staff meetings, organizational meetings and trainings, and meetings with community business partners, and state agencies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality with relationships with all Participants, Board Members, staff, stakeholders, and donors.
- Perform Administrative Duties as assigned

- Participating in staff training issues in advance of team needs.
- Have the ability to be presentable in front of participants and business partners in a business environment.
