**Job Overview**: A Countertop Templator, also known as a Measurer or Template Technician, is responsible for accurately measuring and documenting the dimensions and specifications of countertops and other surfaces to ensure proper fitting and installation. Their primary role is to create precise templates using state of the art laser templating systems and CAD software to generate a finished drawing for fabrication.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Equipment Operation: Operate measuring tools and equipment, such as digital measurement devices, lasers, levels, and CAD software, to ensure accurate measurements and template creation. Familiarity with these tools and the ability to troubleshoot any technical issues is essential.
- Template Creation: Create precise templates using a digital templating system and CAD software. Ensure that templates capture all necessary details and match the exact shape and contours to customer specifications.
- Communication and Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with customers, contractors, and other team members to ensure an efficient workflow and accuracy. Collaborate with designers, fabricators, and installers to discuss specific requirements and resolve any measurement-related issues.
- Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and quality of templates by thoroughly reviewing and verifying measurements and specifications. Identify any discrepancies or potential issues that may impact the fabrication and installation process.
- Site Evaluation: Conduct on-site evaluations and assessments to gather essential information about the project scope, including the existing structures, obstacles, and potential challenges. Assess the feasibility of installation and make necessary recommendations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records, including measurement reports, template specifications, and any modifications or changes made during the process. Provide accurate and detailed documentation to assist project managers, fabrication and installation teams.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices related to countertop templating. Seek opportunities for both personal and professional development and improvement in measurement techniques and software proficiency.
- Maintains a clean, organized and efficient workflow
- Willingness to assist other ‘satellite’ teams; coordinating projects, installations, material deliveries with a goal of providing unparalleled customer service and quality products
- Ability to develop and affirm both company values and industry standards
