**Coder Abstractor II Position Summary**

**Coder Abstractor II Position Requirements**

Education
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and coding course required.
- ART, CCS required within two years of employment in the position.

Experience
- One to two years experience in computer entry and knowledge of Windows preferred.
- Experience with inpatient ICD-9 CM and outpatient CPT-4 Code assignments.
- Computer experience and Microsoft Office required.

**Coder Abstractor II Work Schedule**
- Full time, Five 7.5 hour shifts per week.
- Overtime only necessary due to volumes and when approved by the HIM Director

**Coder Abstractor II Benefits**
