Recreation Technician

The Town of Farmville is seeking a part-time Recreation Technician to join our Parks and Recreation Department.

**Job Summary**: Responsible for planning, organizing and conducting recreational programs for all ages including but not limited to youth and adult sports, activities, community interest classes, cultural programs and occasional special events under the direction of the Recreation Director.

Plan, promote, organize, and schedule program such as classes, clinics, workshops and community special events for all ages. Maintain records such as attendance and income from fees and expenditures. Maintain inventory control of recreation equipment and supplies. Coordinate activities and events with schools, community organizations and other agencies as required. Prepare marketing material including news release flyers schedule of events pamphlets and brochures. Recruit train and assign volunteers for activities. Maintain good communication with school districts and business community.

Starting rate $16.25 per hour with the hiring rate based on experience and qualifications. Applicants must possess a valid VA driver’s license and pass a background check and drug test.
