**Duties**:

- You will identify type of material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, shelving, restraints) necessary to move or store heavy, bulky, or odd-shaped items.
- You will move heavy materials in close quarters (e.g., narrow aisles or ramps, in and out of buildings, on and off trucks or other conveyance).
- You will operate power equipment and small hand tools to assist with warehousing duties.
- You will safely operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, or other material handling equipment to gather items for shipment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- A current Forklift Operator License (certification) based on the particular lift trucks that operators use in the workplace is required.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

**Qualifications**:

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: 1) Operating material handling equipment (MHE)/forklifts capable of lifting loads weighing 4,500 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or more to move material; 2) Entering, modifying, and retrieving information from electronic records, supply systems and reports; 3) Composing forms relating to stock description and condition, quantity, and unit of issue; and 4) Following specialized handling and storage procedures as required by regulatory and safety requirements.

~OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)
~Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
