Communicate with students using different modalities and in ways that provide maximum connection, including scheduled meeting hours, walk-in hours, and via electronic means.
- Introduce students to the variety of student support resources available across grounds
- Assist students in course registration and degree declaration
- Actively manage progress towards graduation for advisees in portfolio; monitor and refer students to advising specialists when needed
- Participate in an Advising Community of Practice in the College.
- Demonstrate commitment to the liberal arts and sciences
- Maintain and possess knowledge about College curriculum and College and University academic policies
- Demonstrate commitment to the value and purpose of a liberal arts education
- Have an empathetic and student-centered approach to supporting students
- Maintain knowledge of College curricular requirements
- Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of research and best practices in student academic support

In addition to the above duties, additional duties may be assigned.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

This position is located in Charlottesville, VA.
