**Job Summary/Basic Functions**

The Office of Admissions provides information and administrative support to prospective students and implements recruitment, marketing and yield strategies to attract and enroll new freshmen and transfer students; to enhance the visibility of VSU within the high school community, community colleges in Virginia and outside of Virginia; and the university’s overall goal of increasing enrollment.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Five years of admissions processing or public contact experience in high volume office setting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Requires ability to manage projects and coordinate long-term planning.
Excellent public contact skills.
Ability to accurately enter data into computer and to understand computer-generated information.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain excellent records in a database.
Must be computer literate, especially in the use of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel. Possess skill and knowledge of Banner, CRMs and imaging systems.

**Additional Considerations**:
College degree preferred.
