Purpose

To investigate the complex relation between extreme rains, tropical systems, urbanization, and hydrological impacts.

**Responsibilities**:
- Strong programming skills in Python, Linux, and shell script languages for data processing and visualization of simulation.- Analyze and diagnose the impacts of extreme weather systems such as extreme rainfall, flooding and tropical cyclones.- Mentor students in research, as needed.- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.- Outstanding organizational and planning abilities.

Required Qualifications- Ph.D. degree in Earth and Atmospheric Engineering, Meteorology, Hydrology or related field within the last three years.- Experience with processing satellite, radar and in-situ precipitation in extreme weather.- Experience in working with hydrological model.- Strong background in tropical cyclone, meteorology and surface hydrologyPrior experience working with High-Performance computing (HPC) systems or cloud computing

Preferred Qualifications- Proficient in satellite remote sensing, big geospatial data.- Experience with Github/Gitlab.- Strong programming skills in Python, Linux, and shell script languages for data processing and visualization of simulation.- Ability to analyze and diagnose the impacts of extreme weather systems such as extreme rainfall, flooding and tropical cyclones.

Salary Range

$65,000
