**Job Posting Description**
- Supervises the daily operations of the staff for all related functions of billing, collections, authorization and referrals. Ensures that all patient encounters are accurate and billed in a timely manner, by the most efficient means possible and according to the hospital's Credit and Collection Policy.
- **The Patient Accounts Supervisor will be responsible for**:

- Organizing and supervising the daily activities of the Business office.
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of payor rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they impact the billing process.
- Ensuring that all patient encounters contain accurate demographic information and appropriate referrals and authorizations are obtained.
- Ensuring that patient encounters are appropriately billed in a timely and accurate manner, by the most efficient means possible; Developing and updating departmental procedures in order to accommodate payor specific requirements and to expedite payment.
- Working with representatives of ISD, Controls, and other hospital departments to ensure that the hospital's A/R system meets the requirements of third-party payors.
- Developing and maintaining effective professional relationships with representatives of payor organizations in order to facilitate appeals of payor decisions; interpreting regulation or policy; gathering information pertinent to current or proposed developments.
- Working closely with department manager, sharing critical information and statistical data, and developing strategies that will enhance the department's performance and human resources.
- Evaluating, coaching, and training staff for development and performance improvement.
- Completing employee performance evaluations accurately and timely in accordance with hospital and departmental requirements.

**To qualify you must have**:

- Completion of two years of occupationally specific education or an Associate's degree in the field of accounting, Business or a closely related field.
- 2 years of experience
- Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based cross functional knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views and issues and mediate fair solutions.
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems and situations quickly and effectively
- Strong knowledge of overall Revenue Cycle Operations related to Healthcare.
