Railway Products Group, Inc. has been dedicated to serving the worldwide railroad industry for over 30 years.

We are looking for a hands-on SKILLED EXPERIENCED cabinet maker / woodworker / fabricator / assembler to work at our small business in the manufacturing industry. You will need to be well organized and a multi-tasker.

Previous experience in cabinet making / wood working is required.

We are not an "assembly line" manufacturer. You will be tasked to do different things daily/weekly/monthly. Position includes cutting down panels and assembling them into storage lockers, broom closets, trash lockers, etc. for passenger rail cars. When not doing word working, you will be doing assembly of various components, some being mechanical, into larger assemblies. Components are used in the “Kitting” of interiors for passenger rail cars.

The knowledge and use of standard hand tools and power tools is required. The ability to read and comprehend shop/production drawings and work orders is required. May need to assist with field work as required to include installation/removal of equipment and components from vehicles. Some travel may be required.

Production Workers in our organization must be organized, conscientious and willing to follow detailed instructions. They must also have the ability to work well independently as well as with a team. A strong work ethic is important, as is the ability to complete tasks on time regardless of obstacles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Utilizes table saw, chop saw, drill and other various motorized tools to cut panels / drill holes.
- Utilizes regular hand tools to assemble components using hardware, riveting and various adhesives.
- Utilizes Work Orders to identify daily work scope to coincide with production schedule requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering/shop drawings to determine assembly sequences.
- Advise supervisor of the status of work in progress when requested.
- Advise supervisor of the potential production problems experienced from assembly activities to ensure that future assembly difficulties are resolved. Resolution may include assisting with the identification of required revisions to drawings and/or material.
- Participates in weekly Production meetings.
- Assist with the movement of materials.
- Assist other Assembly/Technicians with larger components and major assemblies. Includes the packaging of “Kit” material as requested.
- Complete Work Order paperwork based upon activities completed and notify Quality personnel when appropriate for in-process inspection activities.
- Report material shortages from “picked” material to supervisor and report damaged materials from “picked” material or assembly processes.
- Assist with the daily clean-up of all shop areas including moving debris to dumpsters or as directed.
- Coordinate, enforce and/or train to all company and ISO procedural requirement.
- Perform all other tasks/duties as assigned.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Clean and maintain tools, machines and equipment.
- Be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
