Barista, Morning Window

The Islander and the Dinky Donut Shack in Coronado are seeking experienced barista/counter serve employees. (this is a tipped position)
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, teas. Serve our donuts and breakfast items to guests
- Take customer orders and provide exceptional customer service
- Operate coffee brewing equipment, espresso machines, and other beverage equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Stock and replenish inventory as needed
- Follow recipes and guidelines for preparing beverages to ensure consistency and quality
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Assist with food preparation and handling as necessary
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations

- Experience in the food industry or a similar customer service role preferred
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Knowledge of retail math for inventory management and sales tracking
- Familiarity with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus
- Understanding of food handling and safety regulations
- Strong sales skills to upsell products and promote specials
- Knowledge of different types of coffee beans, brewing methods, and flavor profiles
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with coworkers
- Previous experience in food service or barista training is desirable

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week
