**About the Role**:
This position requires documenting patient visits to medical charts. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is required. Must have strong typing skills. Preparing notes in an electronic medical record for patients who come into the office, intaking patients and completing the appropriate history on patients on arrival to the office, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, pulmonary function tests and preparing patients for procedures such as 24-hour blood pressure monitor, testing for sleep apnea and testing for rhythm disturbances. Call patients to discuss results, triage and schedule some patients, perform swab testing for various illnesses.

**Essential Job Functions**:

- Prepares and assembles medical record documentation/charts for physician(s).
- Ensures medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation.
- Updates patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient
- Prepares and sends all documentation to physicians for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures.
- Monitors the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures. Complies with medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA.
- Performs other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned. Maintaining the integrity of the medical record
- Ancillary duties as an extension of the physician.
- Track laboratory and testing reports and ensures providers are made aware of any “critical” results.
- Convey and document plans for addressing follow-up of “critical” results to appropriate staff, patient, and consulting provider.
- Be able to perform EKG’s.

**Hours of work**:Monday: 8 am-4:30 pm, Tuesday, 6:45 am-5 pm, Wednesday, 6:45 am-5 pm, Thursday, 6:45 am-5 pm, Friday, 8 am-4pm.

**Education/Experience (Minimum Requirements)**:

- Bachelor's degree in science.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with EMR systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong typing and computer skills
- Team spirit with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience.

**Work Location**: Washington, DC/In person

**Medical Clearance**:
You must complete Comprehensive Primary Care’s medical clearance requirements, which include, but may not be limited to, evidence of Hepatitis B, Pneumococcal screen, and a Tuberculosis screen, or have an approved medical or religious accommodation that precludes you from being vaccinated against these diseases.
