Theatrical Production Coordinator

Pay is $1,000 per camp week, paid at the conclusion of each camp session.
- Camps begin June 17 and run through August 3.
- (There is no camp the week of July 4.)
- Rehearsal load ins take place on Wednesdays.
- Show load ins take place on Fridays.
- Performances are on Saturdays throughout the summer. Strike usually follows the final performance on Saturday.
- See our website for additional schedule details.The Production Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of scenic designs, prop, and lighting elements for summer productions. Key responsibilities include:
**Overseeing Execution**: Supervise the implementation of existing scenic designs, prop, and lighting elements to ensure they align with artistic vision and quality standards.

**Deadline Management**: Ensure production deadlines are met by closely monitoring progress and effectively allocating resources.

**Logistics Coordination**: Collaborate with the Scenic Studio and Props Master to coordinate deliveries of scenic elements and props, ensuring timely arrivals and proper handling.

**Communication with Lighting Designer**: Work closely with the lighting designer for specific productions (e.g., Shrek) to coordinate schedules, rentals, and any technical requirements.

**Team Coordination**: Coordinate with moving companies and over-hire help to facilitate the transportation and setup of production materials, including sets, props, and equipment.

**Set Load-In Management**: Coordinate, manage, and execute the set load-in process for rehearsals, ensuring all elements are properly installed and functional.

**Vendor Liaison**: Serve as the point of contact for vendors, including scenic studios and rental vendors, managing pickups, deliveries, and any logístical issues that arise.

**Performance Logistics**: Coordinate and manage set load-in and strike processes for performances, ensuring efficient use of time.

**Rental Returns**: Facilitate the return of rentals to vendors as needed, ensuring items are returned in good condition and within specified timelines.

**Inventory Management**: Organize scenic and prop items back into storage or return them to the scenic studio as required, maintaining accurate inventory records.

The Production Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the production process, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities to ensure successful outcomes for summer productions.

**Qualifications include**:

- A bachelor's degree in theater production, technical theater, stage management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working in theater production or related fields is essential.
- Experience coordinating logistics, managing schedules, and overseeing the execution of scenic designs, props, and lighting elements is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the technical aspects of theater production, including set construction, lighting, and sound, is beneficial.
- Experience working with moving companies, rental vendors, and other production-related suppliers is advantageous.

- Excellent organizational skills are crucial for managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and resources effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for liaising with production team members, vendors, and other stakeholders.

- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and design software (e.g., CAD), may be required depending on the specific needs of the role.
