Student Research Assistant- Jack D. Gordon

The Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy is currently seeking a Student Assistant to join their team, duties include:

- Support projects appropriate to the department functions.
- Support the FIU-USSOUTHCOM partnership by providing read-ahead material for upcoming roundtable sessions.
- Identifying new research reports to share with clients.
- Support in research capacity for leadership.
- Assist with planning, development, and implementing department projects.
- Assist with presentations and workshops at the instructions of the Program Manager.
- Assist with monthly reports for the department projects.
- Work with relevant specialized software programs.
- Complete PowerPoint training.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**Preferred qualifications**:

- At least 2 semesters of related research experience.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software.
- Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.

**Student Disclosure**:

- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
- Upon graduating, student employment must end.

**Work Schedule**:

- Monday-Friday
- 20 hours a week

**Advertised Salary**:
$15.60/hour commensurate with experience.
