WPKZ Radio, The K-Zone,seeks a **Weekday Radio Show Co-Host** to be a Sports Knowledgable Keith Lockhart of our Weekday Morning show, The K-Zone Morning Commute, 6:30am-9am.
WPKZ Radio is the community radio station of North Worcester County and celebrated 80 years on the air this past fall. WPKZ broadcasts on both AM and FM and is the local affiliate of the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins, NCAA Football and long time local outlet for Leominster Blue Devils football. We focus on local guests and local stories, and occasionally some hokey laughs.

**What you will do**:
- Creates, produces, and announces entertaining programs, political commentary, news, interviews, weather, and other matters of interest during a 2-3 hour show.
- Develops and presents skits, answers callers, takes input from the audience, and interviews special guests.
- Presents :30-:60 minute news, weather, and traffic reports, both live and produced, for weekday programming.
- Monitors local, national, and international news sources multiple times daily, with an emphasis on LOCAL.
- Writes and edits news scripts when necessary.
- Plays ad spots.
- Maintains daily program logs to document production activities and all elements aired during broadcast.
- Produces promos for featured games, broadcast features and show guests.
- Makes occasional personal appearances to promote the show, sponsors, and the radio station at industry and community functions and events.
- Produces and voices ads for clients and public service announcements.
- Manages show guest schedule.
**Requirements**:
- Outgoing, friendly personality with a clear, pleasant, and distinct speaking voice.
- The ability to think quickly during guest interviews or other unplanned occurrences.
- Ability to address various broadcasting challenges, including "dead air."
- Knowledge of and ability to operate a sound board.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and edit copy.
- Ability to conduct live radio interviews.
- Ability to engage the audience.
- Ability to collaborate with sales staff to execute client campaigns.
- Ability to project a sense of trustworthiness.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, English, or related field preferred.
- Three years of experience with a radio or television news and talk broadcast station.
Pay: Up to $800.00 per week
