COLLEGE SUCCESS TEAM COORDINATOR

Health Sciences High and Middle College is a Charter High School in City Heights, San Diego serving students in grades 9-12.
- **Job Purpose**:_

Under the direction of school leadership, the College Success Team Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and supervise a rigorous program that aligns with the school’s goal of giving all student access to our Middle College model. The College Success Team Coordinator will ensure program implementation and will be responsible for ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality program.
- **Education-Based Qualifications**:_
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; and
- California Teaching Credential in designated content area; and
- Administrative Specialist Credential (recommended); and
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching; and
- CPR Certification

- Coordinate college course requests, student schedules and registration with our partner college, Cuyamaca Community College.
- Monitor classes and provide coaching, feedback, and professional development to teachers in the middle college program as well as coordinate with SPED and ELD departments to ensure adequate student support.
- Design and implement interventions for struggling students and provide counseling for class drops and withdrawals.
- Provide college tutoring opportunities in partnership with the Cuyamaca Tutoring Center.
- Compile weekly data reports to school administration for program decisions.
- Create and maintain meaningful connections to families and provide college and financial counseling.
- effectively organize and manage a group of individuals to established goal.
- design and implement a rigorous program model.
- align program model with identified funding, credentialing, and programmatic requirements.
- deliver effective feedback and coaching.
- provide high quality support to an individual, small/whole group, or co-teaching setting.
- establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, families, administrators, general educators, educational specialists, and support staff.
- communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
- perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the school culture and focus.
- implement relevant technology within the job setting.
- meet professional teacher and administrative education requirements of school/district and state.
- **Job Duties and Responsibilities**:_
- Collaborate with internal and external personnel for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining instructional programs and services.
- Provide coaching and feedback to align with the Gradual Release of Responsibility framework and evidence-based instruction strategies.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality programming on an an individual, small/whole group, or whole group setting.
- Monitor students’ academic progress and provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Implement accommodations and modifications in collaboration with the educational specialist and support staff.
- Collaborate with administrators, general educators, educational specialists, and support staff.
- Participate in management level conversations and planning.
- Ensure grant and funding sources align with program design and staffing.
- Lead data focused conversations based on research-based best practices in an effort to improve teaching and learning.
- Align instructional technologies in a blended learning format to facilitate student achievement.
- Communicate with families and parents to discuss academic progress when there are concerns and celebrations.
- Design class structure, including curriculum, classroom management policies, physical design, and selection of print and digital materials.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, HSHMC policies and school regulations.
- Provide supervision of students during lunch and passing periods.
- Attend restorative conferences as needed.

- Participate in appropriate professional learning activities.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations as directed.
