**Responsibilities**:
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Therapist, Milieu is responsible for conducting initial risk assessments, de-escalating crises in the milieu, conducting process groups, and as needed, sessions with Newport Academy residents in need of immediate or emergent services.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Conduct initial risk assessments for new admits
- Address peer issues within the community as needed.
- Communicate with resident’s treatment team to ensure continuity of care.
- De-escalate struggling clients in the community, understand crisis management techniques, and outside sources such as on-call, to support when needed
- Meet individually with clients who may be at risk or struggling as needed
- Facilitate groups with residents in the evening.
- Work with the Program Director and/or Clinical Director on program development, scheduling and coordinating evening services for the clinical program.
- Be responsible for the timely completion of clinical documentation (assessments, progress and group notes).
- Attend weekly clinical supervision
- Attend trainings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field
- Pre-licensed or license eligible in the state you are applying
- Minimum one year’s experience with children and adolescents in a residential setting
