College of DuPage seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member to provide **Advisor (FT), PF3EADVSRCAS. Positions available beginning June 3, 2024 pending hiring process completion.**

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
The advising faculty will be part of an exemplary dynamic and collaborative environment centered in student success. The faculty will assist students in developing and progressing through their academic, educational, transfer and career plan and reaching key milestones that lead toward credential completion and graduation using a case-load management structure where students feel informed and connected. Advising faculty will have responsibilities for assisting students with establishing a foundational understanding of academic course sequences, degree, certificates, program requirements, and career expectations. They will work with students, utilizing a variety of methods: academic planning, program development and check-in appointments, group meetings, online communication, consulting and referring students to instructional faculty or counselors when necessary. Format of the interactions will vary depending on the work setting, administrative needs, the specific student situation, and the faculty member's case load.
- Offer advising services as part of a centralized support system for student success.
- Advise students on assigned programs and academic transfer planning, using a case management structure.
- Assist students in selecting courses based on educational and career goals and develop an educational plan with their assigned case load.
- Communicate the curriculum, graduation requirements, and prerequisites within area.
- Educate students on college resources and direct them as needed.
- Ensure students are part of the decision-making process and provide education of next steps.
- Provide assistance to students as they define and develop realistic goals and map out their educational plans.
- Participate in academic and occupational program advisory committees.
- Participate in relevant continuing education and professional development activities in order to keep abreast of new advising technologies, methodologies, and resources.
- Provide referrals to counseling and instructional faculty when necessary.
- Participation in student development programs and academic program updates to stay abreast of new programs and certificates.
- Other duties as individually assigned.
- Those duties enumerated in Section D6.4, DUTIES OF ADVISING FACULTY, of the Contractual Agreement.
- Faculty members will be required to complete the college's required hours of Professional Development courses offered by the College per year, or use programs identified by the department such as NACADA trainings and certifications, exclusive of Professional Development per Section J3 of the contract, pending sufficient offerings.

**Qualifications**:

- Education
- Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum three (3) years of advising in a higher education setting. Experience in community colleges and understanding of transfer advising preferred
