**Position Summary**:
The Payment and Refund Specialist is responsible for retrieving and processing payment data files, reviewing data for accuracy and verifying payments are posted to the correct account. The Payment and Refund Specialist will assist with reviewing and verifying refunds issued to members and resolving any payment discrepancies. This position requires a strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Essential Functions

1. Retrieve and process payment files from vendors and post to internal software and vendor software systems

2. Resolves unidentified payments and payment exceptions to make sure payments are posted to the correct member account.

3. Researches, analyzes, and verifies refunds prior to issuing

4. Resolves nonconforming data for payment or refund activities

5. Works with client and operations to resolve member payment issues

6. Reconciles payment files, accounting records, and bank account balances daily

7. Produces regular and ad-hoc reports as requested by the client and OMPP

8. Produces audit logs and reports for internal purposes

9. Adheres to the organization’s confidentiality policy and the protection of confidential information at all times including all company policies and procedures.

10. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, computer phone headsets and phones.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
