We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Information Assurance to join our IT Security team in Poway, CA.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversees planning and implementation of programs, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with requirements for unclassified information system processing.
- Responsible for the resolution of unusually complex data security issues related to architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable policies, regulations, and compliance documents related to unclassified computing assets and environments.
- Oversees the implementation of company policies, programs, and procedures and ensures periodic self-assessments are conducted.
- Recommends changes to policies, programs, and procedures as needed and develops, publishes and enforces company information security standards and guidelines.
- Oversees the distribution of reports and records, including new or revised electronic or hard copy documentation.
- Makes internal and external presentations to senior level contacts.
- Represents the company as an expert consultant on data security.
- Acts as primary contact for data security systems and processes.
- Consults on the development of current, annual, and long-term data security objectives for the Company.
- Oversees the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of human resources to ensure the availability of required professional and technical talent.
- Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

**Job Qualifications**:

- Typically requires a bachelors degree in computer science, information technology or a related field and fifteen or more years of progressive information technology experience in a corporate environment with at least nine of those years in management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. CISSP, CISM, or GSLC preferred.
- Must demonstrate great depth of knowledge and understanding of data security principles, theories, regulations, and practices.
- Must have strong experience interpreting and writing policy documentation along with excellent leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines.
- Must be customer focused and possess:

- Ability to resolve unusually complex and diverse technical and management issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, management, and outside representatives.
- Exceptional computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment is essential.
