**Duties**:

- Provide expert-level recognition, evaluation, and control of fall hazards in scientific, construction and support services including but not limited to fall surveys of roofs, scaffolds, lifts, and fixed ladders.
- Manage all aspects of fall protection program and inspect fall protection equipment and PPE.

**Requirements**:

- Merit applicants must meet time-in-grade/band requirements, as applicable
- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical examination)

**Qualifications**:

- To qualify, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 (ZA-III at NIST) level. **Specialized experience is defined as**:

- **Managing and implementing safety and occupational health programs with a focus on fall protection in a scientific and construction environment**
- **Experience designing and delivering safety training**
- **Experience in hazard abatement with an emphasis on fall protection systems and materials handling**
- **Experience in the inspection and evaluation of safety equipment with an emphasis on fall protection systems and materials handling**

**Education**:
**Qualifications are based upon meeting specialized experience only.** Education cannot be used to qualify for this position.
