**GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES**:Directly responsible to the Recreation Supervisor. Supervise the operation of your camp. Initiate and implement a safe, efficient, and effective program. Evaluate the progress of programs, campers, and staff.
- **Camp Director Qualities**:_
- **Leadership Skills**: The Camp Director must be an effective leader who can guide and inspire both staff and campers. Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to motivate others are essential.
- **Communication**: Excellent communication skills are vital. The Director interacts with parents, campers, and staff regularly. Clear communication ensures smooth operations and fosters positive relationships.
- **Organizational Abilities**: Managing a camp involves coordinating schedules, activities, and resources. The Director must be adept at planning, organizing, and executing various aspects of camp life.
- **Problem-Solving**: Unexpected challenges arise in a camp setting. The Director should be resourceful, adaptable, and capable of finding creative solutions to address issues promptly.
- **Empathy and Patience**: Working with parents and campers requires empathy and patience. The ability to understand others’ perspectives and handle conflicts with grace is crucial.
- **Safety Awareness**: Ensuring the safety and well-being of campers is paramount. The Director must be vigilant about safety protocols, emergency procedures, and risk management.
- **Team Player**: Collaboration with staff members, counselors, and other stakeholders is essential. A positive team spirit contributes to a successful camp experience.

- **MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- College education or at least 21 years of age or older. At least 24 weeks of previous administrative supervisory experience in camps or equivalent experience acceptable to the State Commissioner of Health.
- Experience working with children. Must have a good character, integrity, and ability to adapt to camp setting. Ability to supervise staff, make scheduling assignments, order supplies.
- Must have valid certification in Responding to Emergencies and CPR.
- The Director will be required to complete and submit two(2) mandatory New York State clearance forms to work with children.
- At least two (2) letters of reference are required

**Job Type**: Seasonal

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
