**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Communicate with research partners on and off campus to ensure proper data sharing, troubleshoot problems, and maintain organized data files.
- Assists in the orientation and teaching of new trainees and technicians.
- Prepares, submits, and presents written reports of scientific findings in scientific journals and at national meetings.
- Uses SAS/R/GraphPad to analyze data and prepare figures and tables for publication.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**EDUCATION**:

- Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field required. Master's degree preferred.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Must have a minimum of two years of research experience or experience in research.
- Experience with laboratory protocols and human biology highly desirable but not required.

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**:

- Requires the knowledge computer-based software and analytical ability to accurately analyze results.
- Good computer skills, including data entry, use of spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel) and database, statistical analysis software (SAS, R)
- Excellent interpersonal and English verbal and written language skills sufficient to exchange information with research staff, interact with other laboratory technicians and prepare written reports for publication.
- Requires safe handling of potentially infectious materials or noxious chemicals, using appropriate hospital, laboratory, and bio-safety precautions.
- Requires the manual/visual dexterity necessary to prepare specimens, prepare solutions, screen specimens, and operate a computer software system.
- Experience with scientific writing is highly desirable.

**This position is grant funded through 2/2025. There may be opportunity beyond this grant funding for position integration into ongoing operations.**
