**POSITION PURPOSE**

The Assets Group supports sustainable and consistent operations by ensuring the reliability of assets and adherence to quality standards. The superintendent will lead the maintenance reliability team in developing and preserving a high level of asset health through implementing and optimizing best practices. This is accomplished by a multi-disciplinary team focused primarily on monitoring asset health, governing quality standards, managing risks through identification and corrective action, and leading improvement projects. The Superintendent works closely with both Maintenance and Operation leaders to assist in the development of strategic team objectives and prioritization of tasks while simultaneously supporting the team members by providing guidance and mentorship.

In addition to overseeing reliability and quality efforts at Pinto Valley Mine, the Superintendent is responsible for leading a Facilities Maintenance team that supports the site in the upkeep of critical infrastructure, cranes, and HVAC systems.

**PEOPLE REPORTING TO THIS POSITION**

- Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
80% Office, 20% Field

Primarily office-based work with field time for safety and asset audits

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Exemplify the Capstone Copper Values in all efforts and interactions while working in compliance with all MSHA safety guidelines and Pinto Valley Mine policies and procedures.
- Ensure that you are certified to execute the tasks / jobs assigned.
- Structure and develop the reliability teams in which is technically capable, engaged, effective, efficient and fit for purpose.
- Establish Departmental Objectives on an annual, monthly, and weekly basis
- Provide updates on key projects or tasks to Senior Leadership Team
- Provide support, mentorship, and coaching to support employees in the completion of tasks
- Establish progression plans for employees in support of their career development
- Conduct employee reviews
- Establish and manage departmental budget
- Evaluate and monitor costs and schedules and make recommendations for cost savings and opportunities to bring the project deliverables ahead of schedule
- Direct department initiatives and focus through use of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Oversee the lifecycle management of mining assets, from acquisition and commissioning to decommissioning or replacement. Develop asset management plans to optimize asset utilization, minimize lifecycle costs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct technical report review for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, QA Audits, Performance Reporting, and more as required
- Spend appropriate amount of time in the field to ensure team members are adequately supported in terms of resources and training
- Provide expertise, leadership, and guidance to internal and external departments as required
- Identify initiatives to optimize existing business systems, processes, practices, and equipment to improve the overall performance of the function and department
- Implement new technology solutions to upgrade and improve site safety, efficiencies, quality controls, and environmental protection.
- Collaborate with various departments and external stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, engineering, and procurement, to align reliability objectives with overall business goals. Foster a culture of reliability and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Utilize SAP and Microsoft Office software
- Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:
(Required, Preferred)

Required:

- Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent field

**YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE**:
(Required, Preferred)

Required:

- 3+ years in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering
- 3+ years Mining Experience

Preferred:

- 5+ years in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering
- 2+ years supervision

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSA)**:

- Operations / Maintenance experience highly regarded
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, with Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
- Knowledge with Non-Destructive Testing and condition monitoring highly regarded
- Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) highly regarded
- Project Management knowledge/experience highly regarded
- CMMS knowledge/experience; SAP experience a plus
