**The summer camp counselors will work from June 5-July 23, 2024.**

**From June 5 to June 7, the counselors will do preliminary work prior to the children beginning camp. On June 7th a parent and camper orientation will be hosted by the counselors. July 22 and 23 will be used to close out and do an inventory list. A report of all important information as in learned objectives will be reported to the Executive Director.**

**Camp runs 5 days a week, from June 10 through July 19, 2024 for the children.**

**Essential Functions for camp counselor**:
1. Plan camp activities and supervise campers.

2. Works Monday through Thursday from 8am-4pm for the six week duration of the camp with three days of training beforehand and one day of post-camp inventory count and reporting.

3. Helps promote safe and healthy living through education, games, gardening, arts and crafts, guest speakers, field trips and other activities.

4. Works with Youth Development Coordinator on camp policies and activities.

5. Ensures supervision of campers at all times by working with fellow counselors, El Sol staff and volunteers.

6. Hosts guest speakers at El Sol and brings campers on field trips while always ensuring campers are safe, learning and having fun.

**Qualifications**:
1. Bilingual in both English and Spanish preferred

2. **Must have extensive experience working with children or have completed the 40 hour child care training certificate program; certified teachers encouraged to apply**

3. Technologically literate with strong computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other commonly used software

5. Strong organizational skills and record keeping (attention to detail is critical)

6. Good oral and written communication skills

7. Flexible and able to problem solve

8. Able to manage a group of volunteers

9. Self-starter who can work independently

10. Skill in establishing priorities and managing workload

Strong people skills

**Job Type**: Temporary

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Childcare: 2 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- CPR Certification (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Jupiter, FL (required)
