The Living Room is a safe place where someone can talk with a peer if they are experiencing a mental health crisis or overwhelmed by emotional stresses. It is a zero barrier to care peer support program, offering care to anyone over the age of 18. The trained Recovery Support Specialist uses aspects of their personal experience to help guests find and maintain recovery. The Living Room provides peer support, resources, and referrals to those seeking support.

A NAMI Metro Suburban Site Supervisor is based out of the Summit location, working Monday through Friday from 2p-10p (hours are open for negotiation). Evenings, weekends, and some holidays are required. Additionally, there may be required trainings or meetings outside of work hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide Support and Coaching to Recovery Support Specialist Team_
- Provide on-site support and direct supervision to Recovery Support Specialist Team
- Ensures consistency of information being distributed amongst team members
- Create schedules, manage time off, and approve payroll for team
- Approach interactions from a non-judgmental standpoint, utilizing aspects of the following evidence-based models: strength-based and person-centered approach, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing.
- Promote recovery best practices as are applicable to programming at Living Room
- Assist the peer recovery support specialist in utilizing the following recovery tools to help guests in building a strong foundation in their recovery, while tracking progress and celebrating success: SMART Goals, Wellness Plan, Safety Plan.
- Assist in recruiting, on boarding, and training of new team members
- Co-facilitate team meetings
- Ensure accountability for team members completion of case notes, follow up calls, EOD notes, and outreach efforts
- Effectively Deliver Services to Guests:_
- Act as the Mental Health Professional, completing risk assessments, conducting SUDS screenings, ensuring all intake paperwork is completed, and provide exit survey’s
- Providing outreach, linkage support, and other resources to guests.
- Conducting screenings of social determinants of health and creating plans to assist guests in addressing areas of need
- Coordinate with other members of guests support team as needed.
- Provide guests with resources and referrals to relevant services.
- Facilitate voluntary and involuntary hospitalization of guests if needed
- Collaborate with guests and staff to create Safety Plans as needed.
- Acknowledges own lived experience and shares parts of recovery story as appropriate and relevant.
- Models effective coping techniques, boundaries, and self care strategies.
- Assist in developing and leading groups
- Administrative Duties:_
- Utilizes Apricot database to enter guest profiles, recovery tools, and case notes within 24 hours.
- Completes follow up calls to first time guests within 24 hours.
- Writes Care Cards to guests monthly.
- Completes applicable trainings, approved by supervisor, to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Assist with outreach and engagement activities
- Provide coverage for other shifts as needed
- Communicates overview of shift with next shift lead/ site supervisor/ manager through written documentation.
- Responsible for reporting site data to Leadership Team on a monthly basis; running reports and completing a report template.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
