Clerk Cashier

The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is a beautiful and thriving community of 44,678 located at the foot of Lake Winnebago. **Duties include**:

- Collecting all monies due to the City of Fond du Lac to include personal property taxes, water utility payments, parking ticket violations, and various other payments.
- Issuing pet and bicycle licenses, city parking lot permits, and seasonal boat launch stickers.
- Providing information to the general public regarding personal property taxes, city parking lot regulations and policies on purchasing permits for same, and dog and cat licensing regulations and related fee schedules.
- Reserving Park facilities.

**Qualifications and/or knowledge and willingness to learn of the following include**:

- Laws pertaining to checks, drafts, and endorsements.
- Cash handling, imaging, bookkeeping, and legal descriptions and documents.
- Exhibit the mission, values and exceptional service standards of the City of Fond du Lac in daily activities, and perform job functions in accordance with policies.

**Desirable Training and Experience**:

- Graduation from high school including or supplemented by courses in the fundamentals of computer and data entry, and office machine operation.
- Strong ability to function in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
- Meet deadlines and work under critical and stressful situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and be able to work effectively with employees and citizens.
- Strong ability to utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

**PAID TIME OFF**:We offer a generous paid time off package including 9 standard holidays, 5 floating holidays, sick leave (4 hours/month); and vacation schedule based on previous career and field experience.

**SALARY RANGE**: We offer a competitive compensation package ($18.71 - $22.22/hour) with potential to receive additional step increases based on meeting and/or exceeding goals/expectations; annual COLA and step increases pending City Council approval of budgets; and future promotional opportunities in alignment with succession and career path.
