**Duties**:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Researching and preparing draft agendas, background materials, agenda items, committee reports, correspondence, and all other documents related to the biannual meetings of the Judicial Conference Committee on Space and Facilities.
- Leading staff supporting the Committee on Space and Facilities to ensure that all matters involving the Committee's jurisdiction are progressing in a timely and efficient fashion and all stakeholders are being appropriately advised of actions being taken.
- Presenting and discussing legal issues and questions related to the covered space and facilities portfolio with multiple stakeholders both internal and external to the federal judiciary, including Committee members, federal judges, local court executives, and executive branch partners.
- Overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and execution of complex and multi-faceted nationwide space and facilities programs that comport with the judiciary's space and facilities policies.
- Identifying and tracking any legislative issues that may be relevant to the Committee's jurisdiction, including drafting and coordinating responses to legislative inquiries related to the federal judiciary's facilities program as well as participating in requested congressional briefings on related topics.
- Assisting other Administrative Office staff, both internal and external to FSO, with the development, approval, and execution of annual budgets for the federal judiciary's facilities program.
- Providing staff support on external studies and reviews of the federal judiciary's space programs, including those conducted by the Government Accountability Office.
- Providing logístical support for all related meetings supported by the SFPS.

- All new AO employees will be required to complete an FBI fingerprint-based national criminal database and records check and pass a public trust suitability check.
- All new AO employees are required to identify a financial institution for direct deposit of pay before appointment.
- You will be required to serve a trial period if selected for a first-time appointment to the Federal government, transferring from another Federal agency, or serving as a first-time supervisor. Failure to successfully complete the trial period may result in termination of employment.
- If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation.

**Qualifications**:

- Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.- **Post J.D. Experience**: Applicants must also possess at least** **3** **years of post J.D. experience.
- **Specialized Experience**:Subsequent to graduation from law school, applicants must have at least **one full year (52** **weeks)** of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. **Specialized experience** for this position is demonstrated experience as a practicing attorney for the federal government or private sector providing advice on complex legal and policy matters, including regulatory compliance and program administration.
- **Highly Desired**:

- Experience serving as a federal law clerk.
- Familiarity with the federal court system.
- Familiarity with court administration and operations.
