**Summary**

This role will be responsible for independently coordinating and providing safe patient care including the delivery of IV infusions, educates patients about disease and treatment, triage patients calls, and collaborate with the providers in our Green Valley clinic

**Responsibilities**:

- Administer chemotherapy and other treatments as prescribed by oncologists
- Monitor patients' conditions and reactions to treatments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care technique
- Assess and monitor patient’s physical and emotional well-being
- Documents nursing encounters in the Electronic Medical Record
- Verifies regimen orders, administers chemotherapy, biologics, immunotherapy and supportive care medications according to institutional policies and protocols
- Recognizes and responds to cancer-related issues including toxicities and oncological emergencies
- Assesses readiness of patient/family to learn and provide individualized patient education
- Provides compassionate support to patients and family
- Communicates with patients and providers pertinent concerns or feedback
- Identifies and works to resolve barriers that impede quality, safe and efficient delivery of patient treatment and care
- Triage and prioritize needs of patients either directly or by phone
- **Key Competencies**:

- Ability to empathize with patients and families and deal with grief and challenging patient interactions.
- Ability to collaborate with health care team to make personalized treatment plan for each cancer patient
- Ability to cope with death and dying.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS certification
- Current Arizona RN license in good standing
- Competent in venipuncture and vascular access
- Experience in oncology preferred
- Completion of ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy course preferred
