Position Summary:
If immersing yourself in data and analyzing data processes, governance, review and quality assurance is an intriguing role for you, join our Advancement Services team as an Analyst on our Data Services team. As you learn and gain better understanding of our data and the data services we deliver, you will serve as a key member of our team in providing strategic and analytic feedback to our Director. Utilizing your prior data management and audit experiences combined with your knowledge of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures, you will work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional manner as a liaison within Advancement Services and to other External Affairs units. This unique opportunity to expand your data management, analytical and organization skills as you provide insight and knowledge will inform our data driven endeavors. You will work with our innovative and resourceful teams on a wide variety of initiatives to expand and enhance how we maintain the over 3 million records in our database of all private support given to UCLA. Our gift and biographic information is at the heart of our donor database and provides the basis for philanthropy that is at the core of our External Affairs mission. Salary & Compensation: *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. - Minimum of two years experience in and thorough knowledge of data management, governance, processing, review, reporting and quality assurance. (required)
- Experience in a high volume and complex university advancement services, fundraising or similarly structured environment including review and management of large volumes of information. (required)
- Strong service orientation with prior experience responding to customer inquiries and concerns in a customer-service environment and replying promptly and efficiently to requests. (required)
- Demonstrated experience managing and improving systems, processes, and efficiencies, ideally through technology based solutions. (required)
- Strong research and analytical skills; able to think strategically, analyze information and complex multi-faceted problems and situations in order to develop strategies for problem resolution and program enhancement. (required)
- Strong active listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships with a wide variety of internal/external constituents as part of a dynamic team. (required)
- Highly organized, efficient and attentive to detail and accuracy; able to independently plan, prioritize, adapt and manage multiple projects and activities to meet deadlines under mínimal supervision. (required)
- Political acumen, tact and sound judgment; skill in handling sensitive situations and materials with discretion while maintaining confidentiality. (required)
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to write clear, precise, detailed, comprehensive and grammatically correct letters, memos, reports, policies and procedures. (required)
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to acquire input and lead discussions with a wide-ranging group of stakeholders across both business and technical teams. (required)
- Engaged, focused and proactive, self-starter able to work equally well independently and collaboratively in a team setting with leadership skills to provide guidance, coaching and mentoring. (required)
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting university resources is preferred. (preferred)
- Knowledge of Blackbaud CRM or similar database is preferred as is knowledge of relational databases and/or SQL is preferred. (preferred)
