Manager, Procurement

The Procurement Manager oversees and manages the internal day-to-day procurement operations for all chemical and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Manager leads a team of Procurement Specialists and Coordinators, ensuring efficient procurement processes, vendor management, and cost optimization strategies.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Procurement Specialists and Coordinators to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery of chemical and MRO materials.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure reliable sources of materials and favorable terms.
- Review and analyze procurement data, including spend, supplier performance, and market trends, to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to secure favorable agreements and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to procurement activities.
- Provide regular reports and updates on procurement performance, initiatives, and key metrics to senior management.
- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Resolve any procurement-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement and supply chain management.

**REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE**
- Batchelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with t least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement principles, practices and procedures, particularly in the chemical and MRO industries.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability tomotivate an develop team members.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Prociciency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in procurement.
