The SQL Developer & Data Designer will deliver innovative solutions that help our federal clients improve the services they provide to the American public. - Duties will include, but not be limited to:

- Performing day to day querying and analysis using SQL queries and procedures, and script execution to enhance understanding of data within a consolidated data store.
- Considering amorphous problem sets or functional requirements to determine path forward on creating the query to support end user business needs.
- Migration of queries, including conversion of syntax, from Postgres DB to a Redshift data store.
- Developing materialized views, stored procedures, and scheduled queries.
- Analyzing existing queries for performance improvement and optimize runtime against Redshift database.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS. AND ABILITIES**:

- Drive consistent quality solution development and delivery
- Experience with a wide variety of SQL development & data design tools and concepts
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to think critically and analytically
- Ability to quickly and efficiently solve problems

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- US citizenship or Green Card holder required to obtain a federal security clearance to support this Veterans Affairs program.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
- 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Minimum of 5 years of SQL development and data design experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to exhibit a professional, positive attitude and work ethic
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Critical thinking, sound judgment, and adaptability required

**STRONGLY PREFERRED**:

- An active PIV card from the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Experience working in a SQL development and data design environment supporting federal clients

**TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must have a quiet, dedicated workspace for Home Office work.
- User-provided home high-speed network connection

**PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.
- This position requires the use of a computer screen for extensive periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) most of the time.
- Viewing computer screen/monitor
- Utilizing keyboard
- Answering phone/making calls
- Participating in meetings and client-facing meetings in person or on camera

The salary range for this role is **$100,443.20 - 108,721.60**. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, business need, and location.
