**Job Description**:
To serve guests, adhering to the standards established by management. Responsible for the quality, timely, courteous, and efficient service to all guests. To complete and effectively perform job duties.

DUTIES PERFORMED:

- Set up, serve, and clean up both on-premise and off-premise functions. Ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 30 pounds to and from dining areas.
- Set up, refresh, and service meeting rooms with refreshments, audiovisual equipment, and linens as required. Clean up at the conclusion of meetings and events.
- Some physical labor is required to perform all duties. Occasionally, assistance in setting up function rooms, involving moving tables and chairs needed, either within a room or to another location, is required. Packing, loading, and unloading Catering vehicles is also required.
- Work independently, exercise sound judgment, and exhibit initiative in performing daily duties.
- Responsible for opening and closing shift side work and weekly projects as designated by supervisors.
- Responsible for keeping work areas and equipment clean and organized.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.
- Execute directives from supervisors.
- Training and supervising of student staff.
- Supervision on an event in the absence of a manager.
- Ability to read and interpret event orders to determine set-up and service needs and other duties the manager assign.

**Requirements**:

- Must have one year of experience as a full-service or banquet server
- Must have good written and oral communication skills, with a sound understanding of the English language. Basic computer skills desirable
- Must be able to pass a physical examination without restrictions.
- Must be able to give direction and instruct others.
- Customer Service: Maintains an extraordinarily positive attitude towards others, especially when dealing with students and the public.
- Must be cooperative and willing to work with others.
- They must be neat in appearance and work habits and comply with safety and sanitation regulations as prescribed by law.
- ServSafe certified or willing to take and pass the ServSafe course.
- Must be certified in allergen training or able to be certified within 30 days of hire
- Must comply with proper dress code as designated by the Department.
- Directs student staff and maintains a high level of professionalism.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs without aide
- Routinely lifts, bends, twists and stands for the majority of up to an 8-hour shift
