Aerospace Buyer/planner

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
- Assist in having the quotes from the customers for the raw material buys and outside services for RFQ.
- Support the Estimator in submitting quotes and communication in regard to potential and existing jobs with customers and vendors
- Assist in managing the new and existing business for the company in regard to determining the best execution plans or helping resolve issues between customers and/or vendors
- Access to Exostar for assistance as requested by the superior for assistance in the assigned customers’ matters e.g. Boeing/Lockheed
- Assist in monitoring changing material costs for goods and services, working closely with Estimator to determine order profitability.
- Deal with the vendors to determine saving and price breaks for large volume orders
- Handle the occasional customer or vendor meetings inside/outside of the office with the intent to build good business relations or case-by-case scenarios such as payment owed, due or work matters
- Work as a liaison between our vendors and accounting in order to resolve credit holds and payment issues.
- Occasionally reach out to dormant account and potential customers in an attempt to again more business.
- Assist in splitting jobs internally and resolving issues for re-make or re-work jobs involving NCRS
- Receive and review purchase order folders, as well as review customer drawing to determine which raw material or hardware needs are required
- Work closely with Quality Department in determining customer quality and specification requirements for FAI runs, as well as request and negotiate the most advantaged price with the vendors.
- Create Material Identification for the creation of purchase orders, and link appropriate jobs to POs
- Receive materials in the system as they arrive, checking for pack slips for accuracy and following up with backorders when necessary
- Support the Planning team to create routing information for the creation of the travelers
- Notate the job’s progress and/or important details in the note tab in order to follow up with the relevant internal teams as well as the vendors.
- Closely monitor the progression of the work load by following up with the internal team and/or external sources.
- Support Production Control the RFQ for services
- Create purchase orders outside processing/requesting and reporting status
- Create purchase orders for miscellaneous procurement
- Support the new team members in training, problem resolving and other needed tasks.

**Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications**
- Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures and policies
- Excellent negotiation and written communication skills
- Solid math aptitude. Experience using metrics a plus.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Able to manage priorities and workflow
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field desirable. In lieu of a degree, 7 or more years of relevant experience may suffice.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing material requisition orders for supplies.
- Prior experience in aerospace industry is a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
