Town Administrator

**Overview**:
The Town Administrator functions as the Town’s Chief Administrative Officer. This position is responsible for the efficiencies and proper management of day-to-day Town government. The Town Administrator works under the direction of the Board of Commissioners and the formulation of the Town charter, plans, and policies in place.
**Essential Functions**
- The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices._
**Duties**:
- Carries out the direction, guidelines, and policies of the Board of Commissioners.
- Monitors trends and research new and existing policies for improvements.
- Administers monthly reports on Town projects and programs.
- Manages and coordinates with all Town grants.
- Prepares and makes recommendations to the Supervisor and Town Board of Commissioners such measures as seem necessary and expedient for the health, safety, and welfare of the Town residents and for improvements in the Town's administrative services.
- Attends all meetings of the Town Board, unless excused by the President, with the right to participate in any discussion but having no vote.
- Issues Administrative Orders providing for the standard operating procedures of municipal government.
- Involvement in the hiring, termination, and discipline employees in accordance with delegations of authority.
- Assistance with duties outlined in the internal financial control policy.
- Represents the Mayor President and/or Board of Commissioners in various official formats.
- Assists with Town risk management and training.
- Serves as the Town’s Privacy Official, in conjunction with the Director of Finance, in matters related to the privacy requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA) in connection with the Town sponsored health plan for employees.
- Participates in other related professional organizations is encouraged, as funds are available.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:_
**Education/Training**
- Mater's degree preferred from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Business Management, and/or other related fields.
- Five (5) years of executive management experience, which includes responsibilities for operations, budgeting and managing personnel.
- Possesses high-level communication, negotiation, and diplomatic skills.
**Experience**
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and abilities referred to above. The typical will be: a Master's degree in Public Administration and at least (5) years of experience in positions of broad responsibility in municipal administration.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
