Kitaro Surf & Turf is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Host/Hostess to become the welcoming face of our restaurant. This pivotal role involves being the primary point of contact for our guests, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable dining experience from the moment they step into our establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greeting and seating guests upon arrival.
- Efficiently managing phone duties, which include taking reservations, answering inquiries, and managing messages.
- Maintaining an accurate count of guests and estimating wait times.
- Educating guests about the restaurant’s features and providing menus.
- Ensuring the reception area and restrooms are clean and presentable.
- Taking and processing To-Go and catering orders with precision.
- Handling cash or credit transactions with integrity.
- Preparing and verifying food orders before delivery to customers.
- Bidding farewell to customers, leaving them with a lasting positive impression.
- Undertaking additional tasks as required to contribute to team effort.
Qualifications:
- Preferably have prior experience in the hospitality/service industry.
- Knowledge of restaurant etiquette and health and safety regulations.
- Proven customer service skills, with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Strong communication abilities, both over the phone and in person.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of overseeing the entire dining area.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Good physical stamina for prolonged standing and movement during shifts.
- Team-oriented attitude with a positive, professional demeanor.
Compensation:
- Base Pay: $12 per hour.
- Average Hourly Earnings (including tips): $16 to $22.
Available Shifts:
- Lunch Shift: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:30 AM to 4 PM.
- Dinner Shift: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4 PM until closing.
