Overview:
The Inventory Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the inventory control processes within the organization. They are responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, implementing efficient inventory management strategies, and ensuring the availability of products to meet customer demand. The Inventory Supervisor leads a team of inventory associates, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the smooth operation of inventory-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management: Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock counts, audits, and reconciliation processes. Monitor inventory movements and identify discrepancies or variances. Implement corrective actions to address inventory issues and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

2. Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of inventory clerks or associates. Assign tasks, provide training, and offer guidance to ensure team members perform their duties effectively. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to maximize productivity and efficiency.

3. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate inventory management processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to streamline inventory operations, enhance accuracy, and reduce costs. Stay abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements to optimize inventory control processes.

4. Inventory Analysis: Analyze inventory data and generate reports to assess stock levels, turnover rates, and inventory accuracy. Utilize analytical tools and software to identify trends, forecast demand, and make informed decisions regarding inventory management strategies.

5. Supplier Relations: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely and accurate receipt of incoming inventory. Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms, resolve issues, and optimize procurement processes.

6. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to inventory management, storage, and handling. Implement safety protocols to minimize the risk of inventory damage, loss, or theft. Conduct regular inspections of inventory storage areas to maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards.

7. Communication: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and finance, to coordinate inventory-related activities and address any inventory-related concerns or issues. Provide regular updates on inventory status, performance metrics, and initiatives to stakeholders and management.

8. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, developments, and emerging technologies related to inventory management. Participate in training programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills in inventory control practices and techniques.

Qualifications:

- Degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inventory management or related field, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in inventory control and management.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to maintaining high standards of inventory integrity and control.

Physical Demands:

- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment, such as PIT’s.
- Stamina to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods while conducting inventory counts and inspections.
- Capacity to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical hazards.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle inventory items safely and accurately.
- Agility to maneuver through crowded or confined spaces within the warehouse and storage areas.
- Physical fitness to perform tasks that may require repetitive motion or strenuous activity, such as lifting, stacking, and sorting inventory items.
