Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River is seeking an individual

to assume the responsibilities of

Business & Finance Teacher
- **Primarily to teach using Bloomberg Terminals **_

Position
- 10-month teaching position

You should be able to develop lesson plans, assign homework, and assess student performance.

You should also be able to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders effectively.

The purpose of a business teacher is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to succeed in the business world. This includes teaching students about business concepts, operations, and strategies. Business teachers can also help students develop important communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Additionally, business teachers can serve as mentors and guides on how to navigate the workplace.

**Responsibilities**:

- To oversee the capstone/portfolio projects and certificates of Bloomberg Finance
- To be able to teach the students how to use the Bloomberg Terminals
- Courses to be tight are Bloomberg Courses, Personal Finance, Economics, Accounting, and other business courses as needed.
- 3 Bloomberg Certification courses
- Fundamentals
- Market Concepts
- Environmental
- Ability to work with students of diverse ethnic backgrounds, academic profiles, and skill levels.
- Possess good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must demonstrate responsibility, a desire to help others, discretion, and flexibility.
- Knowledge of basic academic content and skills.
- Application of such knowledge and tools to help students access the material.
- Ability to collect and analyze data
- Design and deliver engaging and effective lessons in business topics
- Develop lesson plans, assign homework, and assess student performance
- Maintain accurate records and reports of student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders
- Participate in professional development activities
- Work with students in small groups or one-on-one
- Develop and implement lesson plans for business-related topics
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
- Lead classroom instruction and discussions
- Administer and grade tests and assignments
- Advise students on career and educational pathways
- Mentor students and develop relationships with them
- Stay up to date on current business trends and technology
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess a bachelor's or master's degree preferred in the related field.
- Teaching certification or experience in a business-related field
- Have at least five years of teaching experience in the content area
- Experience working in the Finance district for at least five years is preferred
- **Experience with Bloomberg Terminals or the ability to receive training through Donovan Catholic.**:

- Strong knowledge of business principles and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create and present engaging lessons
- Knowledge of technology tools used in the classroom
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in business education
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

**Other**:

- A background and fingerprint report will be conducted and submitted to State authorities as required by law for all personnel working within a school environment. Must be willing to undergo Catholic Diocese VIRTUS certification.
