Cad Drafter

AIA Countertops, a Division of Patrick Industries is seeking a CAD Drafter to join their growing Business Unit to create new products and upgrade existing ones with our Customers in mind. In this exciting position, you will work closely with other Designers and Engineers throughout the AIA Countertops locations.

The CAD Drafter position brings opportunities to grow your design capabilities and learn from other experienced industry professionals. With the growth of the company, new and exciting projects are limitless and we are looking for someone with the skill set, creativity and customer service skills to continue helping us grow and come up with innovative ideas for our Customers

**Responsibilities**:

- Create and update 2D models, drawings, and procedures to develop new products and maintenance of existing ones while ensuring the quality and thoroughness of engineering documentation are correct
- Modify existing drawings and create new designs based on Customer specifications
- Work with Customers and be open to requests on print changes to them
- Work with Engineering Department to brainstorm new ideas and concepts
- Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data in order to calculate part dimension compatibility with machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates
- Observe CNC machine trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications
- Coordinate with other functional areas as needed to implement Engineering Changes as needed
- Provide progress, status, and troubleshooting reports to management
- May occasionally perform special projects; Perform other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- AlphaCAM and EnRoute experience desired
- CNC Programming/operating experience desired
- Exceptional documentation skills are mandatory
- Ability to professionally communicate and work with others
- Must be team success-minded and driven
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple, changing priorities
- Blueprint reading, basic math, and understanding of measuring devices
- Able to keep team members well informed and to draw on other's expertise when required
- Write appropriate machine-level instructions, including revisions to existing programs

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
