**Position Description**

**POSITION TITLE**:Assistant to the Principal

**FLSA**:Exempt Professional

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master’s degree in administration
- State teaching license
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience
- Effective communication skills
- Effective problem solving skills
- Ability to work during non-scheduled teaching hours

**REPORTS TO**: Principal

**TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT**: Teacher’s salary schedule plus a 12.5% rider

**CONTACT TIME**:

- Whenever a substitute is employed in the absence of the principal.
- Three (3) additional duty days to be determined by the principal listed under responsibilities.
- Evening and weekend time devoted to projects and activities outlined by the principal listed under responsibilities.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- To provide assistance to the principal during the normal operation of the school.
- To provide administrative leadership in the absence of the principal.
- To provide leadership and support to the principal in the following organizational areas.
- Summer school registration
- Pre-school activities
- School handbooks
- Coordination of PTA activities
- Curriculum organization
- In-service sessions for faculty
- Other administrative tasks as assigned by the principal
