**General Description and Position Summary**:
Working as part of a distribution center team, the Warehouse Associate follows established inventory and material handling procedures to receive and distribute food and other products.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- The Warehouse Associate performs a variety of distribution center duties that require an understanding of First-in, First-out (FIFO) requirements of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), AIB, and Feeding America.
- Pick orders accurately and efficiently in the warehouse, coolers, and freezers.
- Assist in performing cycle counts, month-end and year-end counts, and reconciliation of product variances.
- Perform inventory replenishment of product for order picking.
- Route product as directed to storage locations, verify item counts and locate inventory using hand-held scanners.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of outbound and inbound product.
- Keep assigned areas clean and perform other housekeeping and sanitation duties.
- May perform light building maintenance.
- Assist with incoming product receiving process.
- Enter and look up data in inventory software.
- Be a backup to the Agency Pick-up Coordinator.
- Assist agencies with picking up orders.
- Provide support to the volunteer department.
- Operate powered forklifts, high-Lo, and reach trucks and observe best practices for safety in all distribution center activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to maintain accurate records. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of weight successfully and record transactions with proper format and legibility.
- Ability to learn and safely operate manual equipment and powered equipment, including forklifts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to obtain food safety certification.

**Work Environment**
- Warehouse setting with a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces.
- Exposure to temperatures with extreme variations for prolonged periods of time (coolers & freezers).
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Routinely required to lift and transport heavy items to waist level up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, and walking are required.
- Operation of heavy equipment, such as stand up/sit down forklifts and electric/hand pallet jacks.
- Exert force, lift, and carry items weighing 20 to 50 lbs frequently.

Pay: $14.50 - $15.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Warehouse experience: 1 year (preferred)
