Vortex Optics is looking for a talented individual to join our growing team as a Machine Operator. This is a role in our shop where an attention to detail, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and an eagerness to learn will set you up for success. Here at Vortex, you’ll have the opportunity to grow professionally while taking on challenging and diverse projects. Thanks to our mix of prototype and production jobs, this is the type of job where you will stay engaged and be challenged. In this role, you will be responsible for running a variety of machines used in our production and prototype process.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Operate Deburr, Wash, Media Blasting, Laser Engraving, and CNC machines
- Assist with the flow of parts to outsourced coating services
- Inspect incoming components for quality of surface coating
- Upkeep with basic machine cleaning and maintenance
- Check parts against the print using precision measuring equipment to ensure they meet quality standards & document inspection results
- Prepare material for machine processes and transport material around facility with forklift as needed
- Follow established safety rules and keep work areas clean and organized
- Other tasks as assigned including supporting other departments such as Riflescope Assembly, Inspection, or Operations as needed

**Requirements**:

- Strong work ethic and the ability to learn quickly
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills and capable of communicating effectively with people of all organizational levels.
- Time management: allocates time efficiently to the most important issues, completes work in a timely fashion
- Ability to self-start, work independently as well as work with a team
- Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to be detailed oriented and manage multiple tasks

**Preferred Experience and Skills**
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting along with some mechanical aptitude
