**Compensation**

**Position Summary**

Summary:
The Central Sterile Technician I decontaminates, reprocesses, and sterilizes surgical instrumentation and collects, cleans, and distributes patient care equipment throughout the organization.

**Qualifications**

Responsibilities:
**Education Required**
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Minimum High School diploma

**Experience And Skills**
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and basic medical/surgical supplies.
- Knowledge of sterilization and decontamination procedures.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Prior experience as an OR/Central Sterile/ Surgical Technician and/or SD Technician preferred.

**License/Certifications**
- Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST)*, or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
- Certification in central sterile processing required
- Provisional Certification: 400 hours of on the job training must be completed within 4 months of hire

- Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and /or up to 30 lbs of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
- Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking.
- Pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and feeling.
- Visual Acuity Requirements: Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and assembly of parts at distances close to the eyes.
