Sompo has a unique opportunity for a **Risk Control Technical Assistant **in our **Risk Control Division.**
- Combining decades of experience and deep industry knowledge with collaborative and practical risk management programs, Sompo’s Risk Control experts monitor emerging trends and risks and work with clients to minimize their loss potential and stay ahead of the unexpected. We take a collaborative approach to provide our clients with risk control services specific to their business. We work with each insured to tailor our recommendations and identify cost-effective solutions for mitigating risks._

We are seeking a **Risk Control Technical Assistant. **This position can be remote, working from home, or in an office. Placement in the following geographic regions is preferred**:Charlotte,** **NC **area. The Risk Control Assistant will provide risk improvement consultation for large and middle-market commercial property customers with highly valued or complex property risks. These services provide added value to our clients.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Evaluate assigned new and renewal accounts for surveys and services needed to achieve Sompo’s underwriting objectives.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the following areas: fire protection, property construction types and methods, business interruption, and be knowledgeable in NFPA, FM, and other applicable codes or standards.
- Perform on-site client work that validates or analyses exposures or recommendations.
- Communicate recommendations effectively and influence clients to make appropriate changes to mitigate risks. This may include on-site discussions and consultation.
- Conduct technical reviews of Engineering Reports.
- Conduct desktop account reviews for underwriting.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Prepare, manipulate, and upload Excel-based data reports.
- Compile and distribute technical bulletins and monthly client newsletters.
- Act as Risk Control System Administrator.
- Perform research.
- Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strives to improve service to customers.
- Communicate in a positive manner to contribute to a cohesive, pleasant work environment.
- Protect the confidentiality of information learned by performing the duties of the position.
- Respond in a timely manner to the requests and needs of clients and Sompo associates.

Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with Associates at all levels of responsibility, as well as with external clients.
