**A Brief Overview**
This role is responsible for and provides a central and key role for financial management, operational planning, administrative leadership, managerial oversight of a large Center units and cores, business and program development, and strategic planning related to all Center Programs, units and cores. This role works in conjunction with the Executive Director in the Center and the Division Chief the Hospital. The director is also responsible for the oversight of outreach, marketing, website, billing and compliance initiatives. This role is responsible for financial oversight of all financial budgets which are in excess of $5M per year for the Center and research programs, as well as the projections, forecasting for research, grants, pharmaceutical company relationships, as well as national and international relationships.

**What you will do**
- Business Operations and Strategic Planning
- Supervise the negotiation of agreements, resolving issues through mediation with CHOP leadership departments and general counsel.
- Serve as liaison to Research and Hospital Finance, Research Compliance and other units as necessary.
- Serve in a leadership capacity to build business relations with outside institutions/companies to further the missions and growth of the Cellular Therapy Program.
- In collaboration with the Section chief and Senior Administration in the Division, develop strategic plans, monitor and track progress on initiatives including development of metrics and facilitate annual updates to CHOP leadership.
- Supports Outreach and Marketing efforts for all programs and project
- Research Operations and Management
- Develop and implement new databases to effectively run our clinical and translational programs efficiently; develop and maintain tools, monitoring reports, processes, programs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) designed to support the Research Project and Program activities.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of clinical research trials.
- Oversee the management of all regulatory / compliance training of all research personnel in support of the successful completion of the Research Project and Program activities.
- Develop and implement study protocol and operation logistics in conjunction with Research Coordinator, Program Managers, and Principal Investigator
- Make decisions for day-to-day operations of projects and monitors progress of studies
- Prepare progress reports in collaboration with Executive Director and Division Chief and research administration
- Oversees the management of data collection, data management, and data analysis in collaboration with Program Managers and PIs
- Assist with development and Implementation of QC and QA measures
- Attend meetings within the Executive Director and Division Chief
- Administrative Leadership and Support to Center Units and Programs
- Develop, organize, maintain, and manage the infrastructure and resources necessary for supporting a quality Research Project and Program
- Provide administrative leadership and oversight to center staff; supervise, organize, lead and motivate a large clinical and research team
- Work with staff members across all areas of the division's activities, including clinical care, research, teaching and administrative staff
- Enforce and assist in interpretation of CHOP's HR policies, including employee relations, rules of conduct, disciplinary action, grievance procedures, and other personnel issues.
- Manage support staff and other personnel, sometimes directly or in collaboration with other clinical/research managers.
- Responsible for payroll processing, employee evaluations and reclassifications, and promotions.
- Responsible for training, coaching, staff recognition and morale issues
- Provide creative input for methodology, study design and conduct, and for all areas needed to accomplish scientific objectives.
